I have someone sending me nasty emails, and I want to find out who! Is there some way I can trace them? I think I know who it is but I need to know for sure. I don't want to block them, I want to know how to see if I am right. Please help if you can.

Once you start receiving spam, it's difficult to stop it from coming to your address.

Spammers "spoof" email addresses making it difficult to trace exactly where it came from. The best you can usually do is narrow it down to the internet provider in which it originated from (like Roadrunner or AT&T Yahoo). Once you know that, you can email the listed network support to check out the offender's IP address.

In reality, it's a losing fight in most cases. Internet providers receive thousands of requests like that all the time. Instead, your best short term option is to create a new email address. I have several - one for family/friends, one for work, and one that I don't give two craps about that I give out on the net when I sign up for things or when I forward emails (both of which get your email address into a spammer's list to attack).
