Usually it is like a mother and child. My heart is the child, crazy and wild. And my brain is the mother, wiser and calmer...The brain is there to keep me in check when I need a reality check.

Actually both come into the equation. Most of my temporary decisions are made with my head. Can I afford this apartment or this car? Do I have enough money to go out to eat tonight? Will she like this movie? Does she like white wine or red wine? These decisions are made within the head. Other more permanent decisions are to be made through the heart. Is this the right girl/guy for me? How would he/she feel if the shoe were on the other foot? When and even SHOULD we consider having children? These permanent life changing decisions should be carefully thought through and planned accordingly.

My philosophy is taken from advice my grandmother gave me. Follow your heart, because it can never change it's mind. The way of life may be already decided but the path you choose is up to you. Your mind makes the final decision, your heart decides the path.

It may sound simple but to truly follow it takes courage and conviction. I may have made many wrong choices in life, but I have very few regrets. This is directly because of what she told me. When things went wrong I knew I had followed my heart, and given it my all. If it didn't work out it was meant to be, and the inevitable changes was just me getting back on my path.

Head. Always. Hearts without the intervention of the head are WAY too easily manipulated. The heart must always be kept in check by the head. Although I must admit to being biased by my MB/KB temperament type.

I wish I didn't but I seem to use my heart, even though my brain screams out what I should be doing. 95% of the time I regret my decisions !

I like to listen to my heart. If you listen to your head and ignore your heart, then when you get what you THOUGHT you wanted, either your heart won't be in it or you'll get a heartache. Take your pick.

Most often I use my heart, but God is in my heart, and He never steers me wrong.

The head knows.

The heart feels what the head knows.

I believe in my heart - my intuition, gut instinct takes me to the right place.
