All new shower heads have water restrictors in place for that very reason. Water does not have an unlimited supply. Water saving devices need to be left alone. People use more water, than the Earth can replenish. If you think water prices are high now, keep on removing the water restrictors, and watch how high water prices go up. Saving water, or conserving its use, not only lowers your water bill, it helps to ensure there will be water for your kids. The people who will say, " It won't hurt if it's just this one faucet of mine!", don't care about anyone but themselves. A day is coming, in the near future, when even the people who have a private well, on their own property, will have a meter installed on their well, and pay for water. Scoff if you will, but it is already being studied. Just leave the water saving devices in place, and leave some water for the next generation.

Make sure your shower head is clean, use something like "works" in it. You won't get the needed pressure you want due to the water savers on the shower head. I drilled mine out. You should have about 60 to 65 pounds of pressure. If you have a pump.

If you unscrew the bottom of a new shower head they put a flow restrictor in it. Usually a little rubber or plastic thing in the path of the water with a few holes in it. Take that out and you will have plenty of pressure. Its very easy to do and Ive done it to every new shower head that I bought. :-)

It sounds like the shower head is clogged up with mineral deposits. Remove it and you may be able to clean it out. There are many varieties of shower heads, Delta is a good brand.

Take the shower head off and then turn on the shower. Is the water shooting out with good pressure, if so it is the head. If not it is the plumbing to the shower.

I like to use Moen plumbing supplies--they are available about anywhere.

shower heads should be changed out every couple of years, they get build up inside the jets and you get the kind of water flow you talking about. go to either home depot or lowes, water pic is a good replacement and easy to install.

remove the head and take out the flow restricter, put teflon tape around the pipe threads when you go to screw it back on. while it's off, soak it in hot white vinegar, that should clean out any mineral deposits. might as well , kill two birds with one stone! good luck, happy new year!

there is a valve on your water pipe right before it goes into your house. it is usually buried. anyway there is an adjustment on this that adjusts the amount of pressure allowed into the house. if the valva is real old it may need replacing.
