I have been on the patch for about a year. Me and My b/f (of 4 years) have decided to for me to get off of it. Could it be that the patch are could I pregnant? I have taken a home test but it was negative. I don't know what it might be.

if it is negative, i wouldn't worry too much YET. Test again in a few days if you are still late. it could be stress and it could be the fact that you have been on BC for so long your body hasn't gotten back on scheduale yet...dont worry too much yet

Probably just a fluke. Periods can miss a week or 2 before it is serious. The patch causes some weird side affects. But if you think you are pregnant then you can always get a blood test. That shows pregnancy as early as 3 weeks along. Good luck

I'm not sure if you're saying that you already got off the patch? If you did, then I would say that could cause things to get out of whack for a time while your body readjusts. Otherwise, I agree with others not to sweat it for now. Those new tests are pretty accurate fairly early on. Test again in a week or so if you still don't get your period.

Good luck.

Do you want to be pregnant? Lets think, this is just your boyfriend. The patch is still working even tho you stopped it. It won't last long. So, unless you want to be pregnant and have protection, have him take the responsiblity and go get condoms. Unless you are both ready for a kid. My assumption, you are not pregnant, going off the patch will mess up your cycle just like with birth control pills. I suggest not continue with having unprotected sex tho unless you want a child. If you continue to have problems with your menstrual cycle after 2 month after getting off the patch and he is using a condom, consult your gynecologist.

If the test is negative, you should trust it. If you are still worried in a week, take a nother test. But I have been 2 months late before. Girls tend to have unpredictable periods, even into their late twenties. Especially since you just got off of the patch, your period may be irregular for awhile.

Though it is unlikely if you came off of a chemical birth control that you would get pregnant any time soon after that. My suggestion is if you are at all suspicious that you are pregnant at all to goto the doctor and have them check it out.

It sounds like you made a choice together to get off the patch and that if you were pregnant that you would welcome the child into the world. Best of luck!

You will need to wait for 6-8 weeks of your missed period to determine if you're pregnant. Usually, it takes about 8 months to a year for one to get pregnant after patch.
