I want to know, which one is better, why, and how much do they cost a month. That is what I really want to know, how much do they each cost a month. Thanks

Gord's answer is wrong. They must have gotten the info for how much it costs to transfer characters from one server to another in WoW. The monthly subscription is only $14.95, and the game currently costs 19.99 at most stores (a bargain if you ask me, it had been 40-50 bucks until recently). You can make 10 characters per server, you are in no way limited to just one.

Guild Wars has no subscription fees. You just buy the game and that's the only cost. With the main game, you get 4 total characters (they don't use servers like most other games). If you get the expansion, you get two additional character slots; with Factions anyway, I haven't gotten Nightfall yet.

As to whether one is better than the other; well it's really a matter of preference. The game play is drastically different. GW is more about arena battles, and WoW is more about questing and raiding. The graphics are also very different, WoW is more cartoonish, and GW is more realistic. It all comes down to what you want out of a game, whether one is better than the other.

WOW has a monthly subscription of $25 USD PER CHARACTER (or that's what they just quoted me on their website)...so if you don't mind playing only one character...all the time...no biggie...but if you want variety...yeah...you'll pay for that. Graphics/gameplay/storyline etc. I really can't comment on, tried downloading the trial version but It was a 9-10 hour download...so I haven't played it.

Guild Wars on the other hand the only expense you have is buying the actual game...the online play is free. I love the graphics and storylines that go with Guild Wars, and is very user friendly. Before Guild Wars I wasn't what you would call a gamer...at all. But the controls for this game are so easy to use that I got into the game easily and have since finished two campaigns and am currently working on my third.

WoW cost about 15 dollars a month and no it doesnt cost 25 dollars for each character you have. You can create 10 characters per realm (server).

Guild Wars is free after buying the game.

i personally like WoW better.
