I just reformatted my comp and it didn't get sound, so where do I get sound?

you need to go and download a driver for your sound card. If you contact your manufacturer, or you know the exact module of the sound card you have search for it on the web.

go to control panel, system, hardware devices, click on sound card and update driver from internet. If search can't find then search on sound card name on internet with the word driver and download the driver and install it that way. Some times upgrading to XP SP 2 will require a new driver download.

I'm just adding that if its a pci sound card and the mother board also has built in sound that those will conflict. reformatting should not change bios unless battery on m.b. dead-- happened to me but was told rare prob.

You need to install the drivers for your sound system. If it is an integrated system you can get these from the manufacturers disc or go online to the company you purchased the computer from.
