I was just wondering if I could use an ethernet cable from my laptop to my 360 and connect to xbox live. Do I need to bridge the connections or do I have to buy a router?

10%?...ha, try more like 33%. And I know its not going to slow it down much if any to bridge.
So if I just make a bridge it should work.....right? I see the option to do it, just never tried. I am just on a wireless network, so the ethernet slot is free.

You will need a RJ-45 crossover network cable(yellow) to go from PC to PC or PC to device without a hub or switch or router.

How many Ethernet connections does your Laptop have? I am assuming 2. 1 being the RJ45 connection and the other being a wireless connection. How does your laptop connect to the internet now? If you use the RJ45 ethernet adapter to do so, then the only way you could use your Laptop as a bridge is to get a USB or PCMCIA RJ45 Lan Card for your laptop.

yes you would need to bridge the connections, but your online gaming will be slow. If you can afford a 360, a good router will only cost 10% of the xbox....
