Hi teachers
I wonder what is the best interpretaion of A HEART in the following.
And doing is similat to acting here?

Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate:
Still chieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait

here heart is generally taken as confidence or person's will to stand for the fate, which coming towards him as he is awakened to the things as told in previous line as - let us then be up i.e. rise and doing i.e. working for some cause.
we can be chieving i.e getting something and persueing i.e. trying to get something.
learn to labor i.e. to do some work and to wait for the results which will come from that work. So for this stanza you can use the translation of 'srimad bhagwad geeta' words karmanye vadhikarste ma faleshu kadachan etc.

Ode Interpretation

Let us then be up and doing, = Let us get on with our
lives (Doing whatever it is
we do…working, teaching,
studying etc.)

With a heart for any fate: = prepared for any eventuality

Still chieving, still pursuing, = still achieving, still pursuing

Learn to labor and to wait = learn to wait for the results of
our efforts, hard work, etc.

In this case heart means with a willing joy.
And, yes, doing in this case means acting upon or taking action on.

It means one has to work hard and diligently -without giving up, then be patient to wait for the results.

HEART here means RESILIENCE, COURAGE and the DETERMINATION to keep on.

i think it wud be 'being ready for'. Watever be the fate, we will be ready for it. i think thats wat it means. this is an inspiring poem para. says we shud be ready for anything and shud continuously do our work and be patient for the result.
