How would I introduce ghost shrimp to a tank? I have a small 1.5 gallon tank. Would I just dump them in from the top? Would they sink to the bottom?

Ghost shrimp do fine in "fresh water". but adding some salt is beneficial for fish and shrimp too. Float the bag in the water for 15 to 20 min. to ease their transition.Take a net ( big enough the little boogers don't jump out of) and pour the shrimp and water through the net into a sink, or cup or something, adding only the shrimp ( not the water they came in ) to your tank. You should never mix water from the store with your own, as you have no idea what you might be introducing to your tank.
They will sink to the bottom. The are bottom dwellers, but you will see them swim up towards the top sometimes, as they are pretty active..

Hmm, my sons have three ghost shrimp in a freshwater tank, and one is now carrying eggs. Guess that means they're doing ok! They bought their shrimp at a reputable LFS, floated the bag for temperature acclimation, just like adding fish, and putting a little tank water into the bag for water acclimation. Then empty the bag - shrimp can swim, they'll find their own way to the bottom.

before everything, how many gallons? how many gold fish? they are going to probable consume the shrimp, or foul up the water too a lot for the shrimp to proceed to exist. i might extremely choose for a snail or 2, that would desire to be large and could not scent up the water in spite of in the event that they die, as long as you preserve it sparkling. Ghost shrimp will do large on algae, wafers, and in spite of leftovers and such from different fish. i've got stored them for years. in case you extremely need to apply them on your goldfish tank, i might propose a extensive tank and a lot of flowers and hiding places for the shrimp. stay flowers additionally help with the bio load of your fish.

While it may be possible for ghost shrimp to live in brackishwater, I have only kept them in FW. Pretty much everybody I know only has them in FW.

In a simple answer absolutely.

The only reason they need brackish water is for breeding purposes and when they are very young.
