That depends on your meaning of two degrees, but for practical purposes, yes, you do.

You could get a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science. While some people will just say you got a BA, that really is two distinct degrees, even if its in the same general field.

It's definitely two degrees by any standard if the two general fields are different (i.e. BA in Public Policy and a BS in Computer Science).

Not necessarily. I graduated from a liberal arts college and it depended on the number of credits you complete. I had to have about an extra years worth of credits in addition to the minimum required to graduate to be given my extra degree. If you're planning on graduating in 4 years this will be tough (I did it and had to take 5 classes a few semester and several summer classes). In most cases you will just receive whatever the higher degree is. Check with your registrar to see what the school's policy is on awarding two degrees.

Not necessarily.

Majors and degrees are two separate things. A major is your field of concentration. A degree, according to Merriam Webster, is the title given upon completion of a program of studies.

Examples
Majors: Biology, Chemistry, History, Psychology, Politics.
Degrees: B.A., B.S. B.F.A.

Practical Examples

My friend got a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Psychology. She was an English/Psychology double major, but graduated with one degree, Bachelor of Arts.

I got a B.A. in German and a B.S. in Biology. I was a German/Biology double major and graduated with two degrees, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. My college offered two options for Biology majors, a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Biology. Had I opted to get a B.A. in Biology instead of a B.S., I too would have been a double major with one degree.

Cool bonus for double degree candidates: You get to walk across the stage twice at graduation and you get two hoods. Mine were white (B.A.) and "gold" (B.S. and it was really dark yellow).

Technically yes you will have two degrees, but they will both be listed on ONE diploma unless you finish one before the other.
