Why are SONY so unoriginal?

sony fanboys/girls stop moaning about how good the PS3 is, it is an overpriced, overated console that has taken features from other consoles and just tried to compile it with half arsed results. (for e.g. the sixaxis remote that has no rumble feature, taken from the wiimote, which actually has rumble and speaker). and for the blue-ray this will be another failure of its multimedia devices which sony are trying to force on people, the UMD, memorystick duo just to name a few.

I think they are unoriginal partly due to the fact that Nintendo came to them, to cooperate and make some sort of add on for one of Nintendo's systems. When the deal was broken (one of Nintendo's stupidest moments) Sony decided to go on and make their own system, thus resulting in the original PlayStation. They basically took one of Nintendo's ideas and decided to venture into every other form of media possible.

I agree it is overrated, etc, but every company borrowed a few ideas from another company, only Nintendo in my opinion makes a great effort to take gaming to a new level. Where was Sony when people were shooting ducks on their TV with Duck Hunt??? My point is Sony cant really think up of ideas well on their own (in my opinion), while Nintendo has been trying this whole time to come up with something new.

NES had the power glove, and the zapper, and yet the pointless ROB, lol. SNES with graphical improvement, and greater control. N64 with yet better graphics, a control stick, and first to have rumble. Sony totally redid their original controller later to have control sticks and rumble. Gamecube, sadly just seemed like a graphical improvement, while PS2 did that, and had their little Eyetoy. Now the Wii is slightly better in graphics than the Gamecube, but the Wii Remote takes gaming to a whole new level, while PS3 is a major graphical improvement compared to the PS2, but yet still has the same boring design for their controller, and half "Arsed motion sensing, and no rumble because it was said "rumble will interfere with the motion sensing", My Wii Remote works fine and its got rumble!!!

Simply put, Sony was somewhat made into a video gaming monster thanks to Nintendo, unintentionally of course, but honestly, Sony would have ventured into it anyways, from their stereos, computers, computer batteries that catch fire, video and audio formats (Betamax, Minicd (cant recall the name, lol) and UMD video) that failed horribly, and home consoles, tvs, dvd players, etc. Why are they so unoriginal??? Because they are too focused on making money in the electronics world.

Oh please. The sensor thing is taken from the Sony Eye Toy. The rumble feature was taken from Sony. As I recall, Sony was the first video game company to use the rumble feature. And I also recall that the N64 had the rumble expansion (years after Sony had it) that you can add to the N64 controller to make it rumble. Nintendo would have gotten sued along with Sony and MS if it was built into the controller, but since it was an add-on, Nintendo was excluded from the lawsuit. I also recall the backward compatibility was stolen from the Atari 5200 and Atari 7800. And didn't XBL had the Virtual Console first? Wasn't the PS3 the first console to include an internet browser (Opera), and didn't Nintendo just release a beta version of Opera for the Wii?

As for the Blu-ray, there are lots of other companies that would love to see the Blu-ray be the next high capacity storage media. Let's see, there's Buena Vista (Disney's movie studio), Warner Bros, Twentieth Century Fox, Mitsubishi, LG, Dell, Apple, HP, Panasonic, Pioneer, Lion's Gate, Digital Underground, etc.

Before you start mouthing off, get your facts straight or else you'll just make yourself look like a fanboy.

Ok, as a gamer, i will be buying a PS3, i own a 360 and a wii already, and heres the way i see sony, microsoft and nintendo.

Sony
arrogant and perhaps slightly ahead of its time, but a blu ray player for 600 is a sweet deal/ technilogically, its superior to the 360 and the wii, but graphically (as of now) i see no difference between it and the 360

Microsoft
Xbox live is a major system seller for the Xbox, and just playing games like gears of war and seeing halo3 videos make my jaw drop

Nintendo
Has long time been the "kiddie" system(duh) what thier doing with the remote is awesome howevr, just watching my grandparnts playing basebll is worth the small price tag

overall, most gamers will play all 3, as for sony being un-original, idk, i really dont like the sixaxis replacing rumble, but if they actually make use of it, then kudos to em. PS3 is actually pretty original with the blu ray tho in my opinion, sony`s taking a huge risk using it

they arent unoriginal!! You have absolutly no idea what you are talking about. Every other game company does the same exact things. So basicly you are saying that every game and everything ever done by them was bad which is totally wrong. It was that same way w/ the x box 360 (which wasn't made by sony) was also expensive but you didnt have a problem w/ that) the only game that isnt that expensive is that new WII game so this is just my opinion but I think that you need to do some more research.

You have no idea wtf you are talking about. sony made the rumble, sony made the eye toy which is motion scensosring. i think the wii is over rated. it is really gay, expecially the name. at least ps3 is fun and has great graphics....cough cough wii suck cough
