Some of the reasons I can think of
1- Acts as contraceptive
2- Helps in preventing diseases as AIDS, STDS, etc.
3- Prevents premature ejaculation. Increases sexual activity time and thus the overall pleasure.
and u don't have to use one compulsorily it is a matter of choice and liking.

Its the best way, which prevents STD's and the Viruse HIV and AIDS. So use it! Some people enjoy sex only with the use of condoms. Now-a-days Condoms are available with different flavours in market.
