Work work work work at it. You'll have to be in absolute top form to have a chance, because there are a lot of people out there with the same dream.
And, if for some reason you can't make the NBA there's always European Basketball League.

you can do anything if you try hard enough. most of the nba players came from poverty. the lack of money was the motivation they needed to practice endless hours. when normal people call it a day, theyre just getting started. but the nba is really hard to make, more hard than the nfl or mlb because of the team size. only 15 players on a team, so that severely hurts your chances. the nfl has 52 players on a team. mlb has many farm systems. and basketball is the one sport where height matters a lot. you can be 5'6" like maurice jones drew and be a great player. you can be under 6' like pedro martinez and be a great pitcher. but in the nba most guys are at least 6' not many great players are 6' and under. the only guy i can think of quickly is spud webb.
well good luck with your endeavors

No you can't, for the mere fact that you're asking the question. Players in the NBA never asked if they can be in the NBA they just did it and they were hella good at playing the game. Players that were stars for the Duke basketball program don't even always make it in the NBA, so I'm guessing that you can't be in the NBA

NBA players are not always the best basketball players, but they are the best players for the NBA. The NBA exists for entertainment and not for great basketball. You have to decide if you want to be a great basketball player or an entertainer.

Don't worry so much about what others say BUT do look at your statistics and compare yourself to...yourself. Meaning, always try to do your personal best. Also, know the statistics of the amount of players that do actually go pro. For basketball, it's very difficult it's a couple of hundred of thousand college seniors vying for maybe 96 spots, total, in the draft. So, talk to you coach, figure out what best you can do, and get to it!

probably not...there are only a few more than 300 people in the whole world that play basketball in the nba. maybe another league like a euro league or the cba is more likely, if you will play at all.

It really depends, and you have got to work hard the minute you get out of highschool. No being lazy.
It is a longshot though, anyone can say
I want to be in the NFL
I want to be in MLB.
I want to be in NHL.
I want to be in the NBA.
but it doesn't always work that way, as far as a player.
*******Good Luck *********

You can't just say it you have to go out there and do it use the other people as you motivation you can't just say it you have to want it. You have to want to prove them wrong. Go and practice everyday and put your mind to it and you will make it. Go to as many basketball camps that you can find.

It's alright to get involved in basketball and give it your best shot, but try to be realistic and have a back up plan.
