if you are breastfeeding, it is possible to not get a period until you stop. If you aren't, it can still happen...just your hormones and your body adjusting to childbirth

If you are breastfeeding, this is one possibility. Women who are lactating very often will not have their periods, although it is a myth that you can't get pregnant while nursing.
It can take some women several cycles (months) for their periods to regulate after having a baby. Also, I sense you are more than just a little confused about the situation and that's why you posted this question. Are you stressing that you might be pregnant again? That could also be a factor. Sometimes the stress of new motherhood (the responsibilities, sleepless nights, etc) can contribute to the delay. Hope this helps!

After having my daughter I did not get my period for 5 months because I was breastfeeding. Now if you have had a period and then it stop it could be that you are pregnant. Also if you are breast feeding you won't have a "normal" period I believe until you are done. I have posted a sight that talks about breastfeeding and the effects it has on your menstration cycle. Hope this helps!

Well, have you had sex? If so, you could be pregnant. Take a test.

Don't rely on breastfeeding for a form of birth control. I breastfed and got my period two weeks after giving birth. I had a normal monthly cycle after that throughout the year and 3 months I breastfed.

If you are not taking any precautions and are sexually active you could very well be pregnant. My son was only 3 months old when I discovered I was pregnant again. I worked graveyard shift and my husband worked day shift, we had 3 month old plus hubby spent a lot of time in the bars "unwinding" aka drinking. I still have no clue how it happened I got pregnant so soon. (Just kidding about not knowing how it happened.)

If your breastfeeding you may not have a period until your baby's starts eating some solid food and less milk. If you are not breastfeeding, it is also normal to not have a period because your hormones are out of whack from being pregnant and it will take time to normalize, maybe even a year.

If everything else is more or less normal, try not to worry. When I had my baby it took 6 weeks for my hormones to regulate themselves and get into the normal "swing" of things. Maybe you are like me.

However, if you are really concerned and worried go to your doctor and get checked out to make sure all is OK.

Hope this helps.

You probably bled right after the baby was born and will bleed again in a few months. Check with your Dr. I think you'll find that your perfectly normal. Are you breast feeding?

well its perfectly normal.there are many factors to consider, such as are you breastfeeding? If so than you will probably not menserate for up to a year, also breast feeding is also a natural birth control (BUT NOT 100%) if your not nursing it usually takes about 6 weeks or more for menstration to resume.
