Hi, wonderin if anyone has any idea about another prioblem with my 1996 V6 chevy corsica. After it sits for a few hours (while at work overnight etc) And I start it up the car seems to be fine..but if I sit and idle for about a minute and a half the engine starts sputtering down and about to stall then it revs up high and then back down real fast and stalls....this happens everytime

Its true due to the viscosity of the oil and the vacum because its cold. Usually when u drive from your home to office, the engine inturn will be hot and the oil will be smoothly flowing in and out. After you stall the engine, due to temperature drop outside, there will be droplets of humid around the hot burnt area and which intrun will develop the viscosity, which results in lazy circulation of the oil that yields poor or sudden halt. Once there is enough temperature it will perform better. This can happen only in poor or drastic climates. Check with Castrol oil zone for the suitable oil for your car for your temperature.

This used to happen with my VW bug. It would only happen when it was cold though. I found that if I pressed the gas, it would be okay for a few seconds. I figured out that when I put a lighter weight oil in it, it didn't do it as badly. I think the oil was too viscous and it wasn't flowing like it should be. Does this sound like it could be a similar situation? Good luck!

This sounds like you have a vacuum leak of somekind. Messing with the mixture when it is cold. Chances are an intake manifold gasket could be the problem. Good Luck.
