But is it really acting, I mean showing different sides of your personality around different people? Is this normal?

of corse it is normal... everyone acts different around different people... think how you act with your firends when it iis just you and them around... then think how you would act if you were talking to your principal or teacher... you would act entirely different...if you acted the same around everyone then wouldn't that make you a predictable boring person????

Well, I would say yeah, it is all acting, but what if you like someone in the new group your acting in front of and you two start spending time together, and you drop the act; then they are like blown away by your true self. I've never been a very good actress, I have tried it for 3 years, but there was a problem in the company, so I left and what do you know the problem went away. So, I say just be yourself, be like this is me, I like the way I am, and if you don't, nobody is asking you too. I'm the start forard kind of girl.

Completely. It's normal that you don't show some sides of your personality around the people who know you well. That's why we are usually more courageous on our holidays abroad :) It is caused because of the simple fact that our relationship and feelings towards each person is different. I have a few best friends but I don't actually share the same thing with each of them. I mean, I share and talk about different subjects with each of them - but of course we chit chat altogether. It depends on the personality of the person you are with and on how much you know and trust them (and sometimes whether you need something from them :-)

totally normal, theres nothing you can do about it. it all depends on the other person/ people because sometimes people bring out certain things in others. your true personality- you have a perfect personality because you adapt to the situations and as long as youre not trying to be someone youre not then youre fine. you cant just act the same around everyone cos that means personalities would clash if youre both loud, or you might be too loud around a quiet person, etc. youre perfect as you are, dont try to change yourself :)

Yes its normal, its called your persona. Your persona for dancing in a club and your persona sitting in a church pew are totally different, it doesn't mean you are acting. Can you imagine having the same "game" persona like when you are playing basketball and everything is happening 100 mph and then bringing that persona to a family wake?

Can you imagine what we would be like if we were the same all the way through life? Kind of scary.....

It's not only normal but rather it is required that you act according to the norms of the group or else you'll be 'out of place'. In one seminar, I learned that almost all people can be categorized as DISC which stands for D (for dominance), I (for influence) S (for style) and C (for conscientiousness) with different traits and qualities which could match or clash.

Depends on the types of people you're with.

AT SOME POINT OF TIME YES. WE DON'T USUALLY LET OUR GUARD DOWN NOT UNLESS WE REALLY TRUST THEM. IT IS A NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR SOMEONE TO BE OVER PROTECTED WHEN IN UNFAMILIAR PLACES.
