Im sorry but A bunch of fanboys with their byassed opinion will try to make a lame statistic and some hypercritial assumptions that will totally void their argument. Ill give you a good answer but lemme put this out there first.

Let me say this first. If I had the money to buy all of the systems, I would. Seriously each gaming system excels at something but all falter at some things or another. So it comes down to specifics and preferences. If your a graphical addict then your better sticking off to Xbox360 or Ps3, and I mean you better be like REALLY REALLY looking for great graphics. BUT before you buy either of the systems, there are a few things you need to reach the full potential. You need an HDTV (not HD ready) and a good sized one too ( something above 30 inches would be fine). You also need HDMI cables. These are just somethings you need to reach the full potential. Now there arnt many things that seperate the systems but they could affect your choice. Right now, id have to say, the 360 is just kicking some serious donkey donkey but ONLY because its been out on the market longer. It has a full fledged online support, great 3rd party, and great design. It has a HDDVD drive attachment for an extra 200$. For Sony, its a bit more expensive and graphically is on the same level as the xbox360. But it does come with free internet(although not as great as microsofts) and a Blu-Ray drive inside. Sony has the best fan base out there and has great 3rd party support too.

My Personal Opinion. I would wait between these two. I would watch for which drive (Blueray or HDDVD) succeds and go with the successor. But Ultimatly Up to you.

Now you might be asking yourself , What about the Nintendo Wii?
well the Nintendo Wii is SO different from Sony and Microsoft you just have to compare it seperatly.

Right now Now nintendo has alot going for it. It does do so well in the graphics department( even though i think its fine) but It does have a solid 3rd party support and a good online fuctionality planned( it already has a web browser out). The thing that really stands out is its Wii remote controller which REALLY REALLY changes the way you play games. If you think its gimmicky then try it out and go from there.

ulitmatly I think its your choice but if you want to be hard pressed.

Low on money? Wii
Graphics? 360/ps3
1st party? Wii
3rd Party? 360/ps3
Games? 360/wii
online? 360, (ps3 and wii will have to wait)

Well nintendo entertains the children audience with mario and the old superstars, sony continues the final fantasy series making most of their profits with multimedia capability as well, and mircosoft affiliated with other gaming companies makes their online gaming the most well known in the US.

It just depends on what kind of games you want to play.
XBOX LIVE is big on shooters ( Halo)
Xbox 360 has the biggest library right now.
Nintendo gives you alot for your money and has that new remote thingy way to play games.
PS3 is the most powerful but will it succeed at such a high price?
You'll have fun with any of them, game on!
