I guess the nfl has spoiled me because I enjoy the playoffs where all of the top teams get a shot at the Super Bowl, but in college the 2 top teams get voted into a championship game. I think I heard that colleges don't want their students to have to play so many games in a playoff setup. I don't know if this is true, but these bowls seem kind of like a regular season game to me because I really disagree with votes putting teams into a championship game. One scenario could be, not sure if its every happened, but what if a team has some key players injured during most of the season and loses some games because of it, then at the end of the season they become a great team with a crappy record. With the voting system they wouldn't get a good bowl to play in, but in a playoff setup they would be well prepared to compete with the top teams in college.

I'll also add that the team mentioned in the scenario would qualify in a wildcard spot and have a shot at the championship.

Yes they have gotten boring. They say no playoffs due to classes. But they are out during the time the bowl games are play. They could put the top 16 teams in playoff format playing at the sites where the bowls should take place. The bowls cities would get more money and the crowds would be larger. And if started the first of Dec. would be over at the same time.

I disagree. Even though a lot of the teams playing aren't doing it for a National Title, they are playing for pride. I mean look at Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl, everyone knows they'd never compete with OSU, USC, Michigan, Florida, but they are playing to show us something.
As for the Playoff system, sure I wish they had that, but the idea around is that the regular season is your playoff. I don't agree, but that is what is accepted.
To me, the NFL is trash. Fundamentals are horrible, many players are there just for the money. It's not as entertaining, not as meaningful.
Trash is a bad word, I still enjoy the NFL, it's just not like College.

College football is way more exciting than the NFL. The NFL is flat out boring, I don't even watch it anymore, and when I do, I always fall asleep. College Bowls are exciting because players sell out on every play, plus, the match-ups are intriguing because the 2 teams rarely play each other, sometimes they've never met..
Look at Boise State vs. Oklahoma, nobody really knew what to expect. That's why it's better.
Everybody thought Michigan would roll over USC easily, and look what happened.

There are TOO MANY bowl games. Time was, you had to be a good team to go to a bowl. You could have a decent 7-4 season and not get invited to a bowl. Nowadays, well over 50% of teams play in bowls. You have to suck not to go to one.
Used to be, there were four big games on new years day. Now, there are four bowls I don't even recognize occurring AFTER new years. They ought to cut back from 32 bowls to maybe 15.

You are very correct, college footbal teams should have to play playoffs. I don't agree at all with the voting system because if Ohio would have had to play in the playoffs they wouldn't be #1 Voting just isn't fair!

No, i dig college too. I just watch the games and I don't really recognize a champion until they get playoffs, the media are bunch of idiots that never played sports.

No, I do not agree. I think this Boise/OU game is exciting, regardless of being a bowl game or not. However, I do understand what you are saying about the whole BCS BS.

Have they ever? College football is minor league football period. Sure it can be exciting but unless you have a stake in the college (ie., went to school there) I just can't see getting worked up about minor league sports.
