Try asking the church nicely, not much else you can do. So long as the person was competent to deal with their finances you don't have a right to rescind the agreement. Being bipolar probably doesn't cut it.

It depends -- if the church knew that she was struggling with her illness when she made the donation, she *may* be able to get the money back. if the church didn't know or had no reason to know, it's not likely that she'll be able to get it back. this seems to be a case of a charitable subscription and these are not often rescindable.

however, even if the church isn't legally obligated to return the money, they may be willing to given the circumstances. ask nicely

If that person is in control of their assets, you dont have much choice. You could talk to the pastor of the chuch, he might be willing to give that person back some if he was "not in his right mind" But pretty much, you will probably be SOL...

talk to the church.. if she is having trouble paying bills..they can probably help her with them...Depending on how much money she gave them, it's probably already gone to pay bills, etc but they usually have funds set aside for people to help cover bills (mine does)... Just talk to the church and see.

You may find a lawyer willing to take it on for a percentage of what he's able to retrieve, however, unless you can show coercion, you may find it difficult to find a lawyer.
