I was wondering, did [do] you have a age limit for dating? Like the boy/girl can only be 2 years older than them?? If so, how many years difference?? Just curious

I am not a parent but I would not let my child date someone with more then 2 years difference. Unless they were both 18+ then I can give some more age difference. Like 20 and 27 no that bad.

The law is tricky when it comes to this subject here in Ontario at least the law states that if your under the age of 18 two years apart is the law. But there is so many factors and ifs and buts its really open to a debate about how the relationship started and progressed.

Nicole: There is a force in this universe called a pedophile. and they can brainwash teenagers too. I knew girls ages 12-16 going out with men 25-35. and each of those girls some my friends or class mates though they were in control witch to a point I guess they were but even so a 14 year old dating a 22 year old thats sick.

In my house it was really weird, I was allowed to have boyfriends and everything but I wasn't allowed to go out in a car with a boy or go on single dates even if I had a boyfriend until I was 16 and I had to tell my parents EVERYTHING. So basically our rules are 16 was basically when I could do single dates out in a car, before that it was group dating with a cell phone attached to my hip at all times and so did all my friends and my parents had to know everyones numbers just in case. For age it was never a really big issue until I hit 15(sophmore) because I got into the highschool and i started to meet seniors(17 & 18) and then they would graduate and get older and in my parents eyes I wasn't, so then I would be 16 and they would be 19 a year later.

I'm now 17 and dating a 19 year old and my parents don't really like the idea of it with his age but they like him, he'll be 20 and then 3 months later i'll be 18.

And my parents also raised my two brothers before me, they never had any real restrictions they were wild wih girls older and younger than them, it's always for me "you're the girl, it's different". I hate that, if you have both a son and daughter I would treat them equally.

My daughter was 16 when she was allowed to date. The guys she dated could not be more than 19 or 20...dating does NOT mean having sex. Dating means going out and enjoying the company of someone who shares your interests. My daughter's interests have always been an eccelectic mix and she has dated guys from 16 on up into their early 20s, now that she is in her early 20s she dates guys who are usually no more than five or six years older and not more than a year younger, because she simply doesn't have anything in common with guys who are any younger.

2 years is good. Both my kids were not allowed to date until 15 so 17 was the limit then. Plus no car dates until 16. At 16 curfew was 11:00 no dates on school nights, at 17 curfew is 11:30 (unless working) and at 18 (yes daughter was still @ home) it was 12. Daughter did not move out until she was 19 and still had midnight curfew. :)

yes,i'm not allowing my children to date until 17years old and when the time comes i would prefer the children to stay with in 5 years older then themselves and with in 2 years if younger(like if my teen is 17 i don't really want them dating some one 13 or 14.) it also depend on the teen plus there are laws with age limitation after 18 it's better for the teen to stick with their age
groups. i still have a few years before i have to worry to much.i may change my mind as time goes on,i'll have to see.still undecided.

Personally I would say when the kid gets to be in high school they can start dating. And they should just date people in the same grade as them until they are in college. People are a lot more experienced in higher grades, it makes a big difference.
