I forget who said that, I wish I remembered. I wrote it down somewhere, if I find their name I'll post it.

My quote book lists his name as being Alan Brien.

I always took it as meaning that when an unintelligent or uneducated person couldn't respond with logic, they would respond violently.

I would say false.

Why?

Because even the most educated can be drawn into becoming violent with the right provocation. Because the top advisors in our country - and other countries - are highly educated and intelligent men and women, yet they often advocate and promote the use of violence.

Literacy or intelligence is not a demarcation of the inclination toward violence; personality traits and cultural traits are often much more telling.

Illiterate also does not denote lack of intelligence or knowledge; it merely means that person cannot read the written language.

unfortunately its the repartee of all humanity in a certain state of mind, not just the illiterate.
it does seem to have an inverse relationship with education when it comes to someone manipulating a group into violence over personal ideals or for personal benefit.

Among many, many, many other things, I don't think you could narrow it down to one factor. You have to take into account the assailant's mental condition, financial position, previous history, parentage, where they live, who they are mates with, what they do, where they work etc etc. I think is mainly the refuge of the stupid, and that has little to do with being illiterate or not.

Even idiots can spell their name.

Whoever wrote that obviously didn't put too much thought into it.

Definitely false.

Just about all the all worst progenitors of violence and genocide in the world were highly intelligent individuals. Even Joseph Stalin was no dumb Russian; he just let everyone think he was.

False. Violence is an acting out behavior of feelings.

I'd consider that to be true of the majority of the illiterate. Who said that?

True because the illiterate are usually also ignorant.
