I like your list a lot, and I agree with the albums I do know... I also love the Decemberists, and their album previous to Crane wife, "Picaresque" was also awesome, even though it didn't come out this year.
You might want to try the Cold War Kids, they are really good. Also, they didn't have new album in 2006, but the Shins are awesome.
