Use Image Resizer (Windows XP Powertoys) and compress pictures to your preference. DVD is a good media storage tool.

I don't know what size images your taking but a CD should hold 650-700MB, that means your images are running 100MB each ???

High quality CD's or DVD is your best option for long term storage at this point in time. HD's are an absolutly stupid asnwer by anyone as HD's fail and can fail without any notice.

Find out why your images are so large first off and see if you can resize them without losing any needed quality. Buy some high quality CD's or DVD from Verbatim and brun your images. Place those CD's in a dark, climate controlled filing cabinet or similar. Burn again with some cheap CD's that are on sale at Staples, BB or where ever, I've seen 100 for $15, keep those CD's handy for easy viewing, editing, etc.

Other options of course are Tape, Rev Drives, and similar devices but your cost is going to shoot up pretty fast.

I have 10,000+ pictures on my external 80 GB Hard Disk
If u want to carry ur pictures then memory sticks may b another good options.

Get a Flickr account, and keep a copy there.

You can burn a CD, or just keep them on your Hard Drive. Just make sure you have a remote copy of them, like Flickr or some other photo hosting site.
