There are an infinite number of solutions to this. You're either missing part of the problem, or the answer you're looking for is a line graph (as some of the other responses imply).

I don't know what answer you have.
I am assuming that the problem is how to graph this equation. If that's the case, then y= mx+b is the equation of a straight line.
The m is the slope of the line and in your equation m=4
b is the y-intercept which is the place where the line crosses the y-axis. In your case b=-7 and so crosses the y axis at the point (0,-7). The slope of the line is 4 which means for every unit you move to the right you move 4 units straight up.
So when x=2, y = 4times 2 - 7 = 1
So you could draw a line going through (0,-7) and (2,1) and you would have your reqired graph of the line. You can make the line as long as you want in either direction.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

That equation is for a line graph. On the y axis, u start off at -7, then go 4 up, 1 right, 4 up 1 right, and keep going, and u'll have a line.

y=7+3x y=7+3x 0=7+3x y=7=3(0) -7=3x what i did is positioned a nil in for the y first then solved it....then positioned a nil in for the x and solved it...do merely the comparable factor with y=4x+5

Uh, I'm not sure what you're asking here.
y = 4x - 7 is a line with slope 4 and y-intercept -7.
Is that helpful?

x = (y+7)/4
But yeh...slope of up 4, right 1 (on a graph), while starting 7 units below the x axis.

Is "y=4x-7" the answer? Then what is the problem?
