keep closing out on me and then I get 'Mozilla FireFox has encountered a problem and needs to close....' and I get 'Error Report' with the buttons 'Send' or 'Don't Send'. It closed out three times on me, then I had to 'restore session' for it to come back up. What causes this? I'm aggravated with it and may uninstall it, but thought I'd ask first if this happens to anyone else. I don't have it as my default browser, but I do have IE7. Could it be conflicting with a software program I have or Yahoo Messenger or IE? Any thoughts or information on this? Thanks a bunch!

There are NO conflicts with IE7 that I know of. I use both regularly.

I agree that an extension may be the source of your problem. Find and use your Firefox "Safe Mode" shortcut to start the browser. This will call up the browser with no extenstions or themes operable. You can then attempt to find the problem item by process of elimination. Simply uninstall each extension until the normal browser works.

You can also call up the Safe Mode version by going to START > Run > firefox.exe -safe-mode and press OK.

Um, if you are using the latest Firefox builds, there shouldn't be a "send" button - that button was removed for some reason (although you can still use the "send" option in the right-click menu).

Would first try uninstalling and a fresh install.

Personaly I reckon your best shot is simply to set up a clean profile - may well have been a corruption occured causing a conflict in build information.

From the start panel open up the Run console (or WinKey + R)

Enter "firefox.exe -p" - this will open up the profile manager - create a new profile and a way you go ...should fix the problem

You might try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. You might also try uninstalling it, removing the profile folder (delete or rename (maybe the safer option) the C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox folder, Application Data is a hidden file), then reinstalling it.

If you're having problems finding the Firefox profile folder, copy the next line and put it in the address bar of Explorer, then delete or rename the Firefox folder:
%homepath%\Application Data\Mozilla\

This happnes to me alot too. Im no professional source but ive been using firefox for a long time. This usually isnt a random thing for me and I notice it happening for specific websites and the programs and inserts they run. I think its just incompatibility. But THANKFULLY the recent update of firefox(I think its been about a month or two) automatically saves anything and everything you were viewing at the time of the crash and at the next time you open firefox it asks you if you wish to reopen your previous viewing. Becuase of this, the crashing has become a no problemo for me.

It happens to me a lot. I think it's because I click around too fast. It drives me crazy. But it's the coolest browser. with great add ons. I set the virtual memory higher ad it worked better.

it's usually from an extension you loaded that is causing a conflict, you have to remove it completely and re install it, I finally ended up using Mozilla suite and it works fine.
