I know the European version of the Command Nav Dash plays the movies, however the American version has a restriction that prevents the picture from coming up. All that the system allows to come out is sound. There should be a simple solution.

try putting a DVD in. no, really, if the DVD player was in the car when you bought it (factory or dealer option) look it up in the owners manual. if it's aftermarket, ask the place where you got it from.

Yes, put the DVD you want to watch into your DVD player, then either push PLAY on the DVD player or the remote (if it has one). If that doesn't work, either your DVD player is broke, not turned on, not a DVD that you put in, or not even a DVD player at all. If all else fails, and you could always read the Owners Manual, or contact the dealership you got it from, or the manufacture themselves.

It should play when the trans is in park and the brake is set or if the engine isn't running.
