having cold feet within 2 days of onset of period will worsen the pain. i have no idea why. keep your feet warm. otherwise, take midol or such, a hot bath, heating pad and even a bit of naughty personal time will help by contracting your muscles and relieving the pain.

keep shoes on or socks. Dont soak in bath tubs full of water. try not to drink dairy products also because that could be the case. pamprin is ok but tylenol works the best to me so give it a try. If it doesn't ask your mother to take you to a doctor sometimes many females have to get prescribe drugs.

You don't have to be sexually active to use birth control. You can take it as a hormonal therapy. You may want to talk to your gyno about starting you on something. It will also help with how long you have your period and how heavy the flow is.
Good Luck

Fresh ginger tea works for me every time. Cut up 3 to 4 pieces of fresh ginger and pour hot water over the ginger let steep for 15 minutes and sip through out the day. I usually start drinking it a day before I'm to start so I don't get the cramps at all.

Take something like Advil or Motrin as soon as you feel your period coming on. Take it a couple times a day six hours apart. Drink warm tea. Remember, attitude is everything. Try to be nice in spite of feeling yukky. It's a choice.

Make an appointment with your GP or OBGYN and talk to them about it. They may be able to give you something for the pain or suggest something different than pamprin.

My Dr. suggested cutting back on caffeine just before and during my period.

A great prescription drug is Naproxin. It's actually a muscle relaxent - the best thing I've found. Other than that, I would suggest going on the pill. It regulated and cut back on the cramps for me.

Try using Naproxen whihc is available over the counter in the pain med section. Also if your symptoms are pretty severe you may want to consider seeing the doc and get some help.

Don't ware Tampons. It seems to make the pain worst. Also, Heating pads help and when you shower, use hotter water than normal. You may want to try rotateing your pain medication. Try several different brands. I stick with Motrin.

Menstrual

My great great aunt was taking alum to reduce the flow of her periods I guess they were too heavy she died at 16 wonder if that is the cause anyway alum needs to be listed as a remedy for mentrual flow . Love Genia

In reference to "taking alum" - - It is actually "alum root" or "cranesbill root." Native Americans used it for several different ailments, heavy menstrual periods being one. My Choctaw great-great grandmother gave it to my grandmother. She claimed it worked! Kelly
