I've never lived in Tennessee; I live in neighboring Kentucky, but have visited TN many times.

TN is full of interesting Civil War sites, music heritage, cool cities (Nashville and Memphis,) breathtaking natural scenery (2nd best in the South only behind NC,) smooth rivers, clean air, beautiful mountains (and the fresh mountain streams,) and people there are much nicer overall than Kentuckians.

The only thing I don't like about TN are its douche bag cops. Kentucky's cops are better and more professional. Other than that, TN is a better state, it seems to me.

Lived here all my life. Born Nashville, College Knoxville, worked Chattanooga, moved back to Nashville.
Good things: All the things you said, and I agree NC is more scenic. Nice people. Good Football (even though my school makes me live in constant disappointment). Good food. And dude, our FIREMEN ROCK!!!!!! They are awesome!!!!
Bad things: douche bag cops that over react and arrest you even though you blow a .06. (but got out of it!) All cities in TN posess douche bag cops. They are stoopid people that you said in high school, that dude with the mullet or the buzz, "yeah he'll be a cop". Yep, they are, and they are still bunch of *******.
All in all Tennessee is a great state, The Volunteer State, in spite of our DOUCHE BAG POLICE FORCE.
