Is there anything that i can do to help make my period less painful? i am not sexually active (if that matters) i don't care what it is, i just need something. i am insanely irritable and i hate it. i have been taking pamprin lately, but that doesn't work too well. any tips?

I'm sorry to say that pamprin is not the best thing you can take. Please stick with a NSAID (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug) such as ibuprofen (motrin) or naproxen. Be sure to take it exactly as described for as many days as you usually have cramping (that is take it every 4 hours...do not give it a chance to "wear off"). This will keep the pain controlled once you have the jump on it. Also, try a heating pad. A regular exercise program has been shown to be effective in preventing cramps in many females as well.

If none of the above works, it warrants a visit to the gynecologist to be sure there isn't another issue going on...such as endometriosis, retroverted uterus, PID, etc. Also, a gynecologist would be able to prescribe a stronger pain relief for you.
