I understand your predicament! My bf likes to go on and on about things I have little interest in such as sci-fi movies, gory videogames, and every detailed aspect of technology. When he does that, I find myself getting tense and annoyed...BUT I feel bad when I ignore him; I never tell him to shut up. He often gets tired of some of the things I talk about and I surely wouldn't want him to ignore me or tell me to shut up! I think it's fair to tell him that you're not in the mood to talk about it but that you will hear him out at another time (give him a time). Also, you can say that you need it explained in a way that is accessible to you. I tell my bf that I'm not familiar with all his characters, etc., so he will need to break it down little by little because it's overwhelming all at once.

Try something like this: "I'm sorry, but I am having a hard time focusing on what you are talking about. Could we talk about this another time?" Use your own words, of course, and be polite and sincere. Don't be rude. (If you two aren't respectful of each other in conversation, why are you in a relationship?)

just tell him that you need some time alone and walk away. If he keeps talking then get in your car/hang up the phone, be firm but nice.

Just listen or tell him u got to be somewhere or u could change the subject fast so he will stop talking.

You should say hey i don't really feel that good and i have a headaxhe and then ask him to not talk so much say you just had a bad day.
