I have a science fair coming up. I need a project that has a lot of data, is interesting, is appropriate for my age (13), and is preferrably related to microbiology or something to do w/ the environment.

I love science and I have a good one for you. Go to scientificsonline.com. Look up Prepared Slides, or Glass Petri Dishes. You can go around and and take scratch samples using q-tip's or some kind of blotter. check door handles, counter tops, floor, wall in house and put a sample on each dish or slide make sure it has something the bacteria can eat off of. look under microscope to see were the most germs are. label and give an explanation on how you checked area out were location was, and get back-up info of net.

something cool could be to teach what occurs while nutrition is skipped over - oftentimes mold kinds. One concept: -bypass away some nutrition out 2 weeks in strengthen of the technological expertise honest / presentation of the project. decide on some nutrition that molds difficulty-free. Pudding works. Cooked rice or spaghetti (ooh, it somewhat is authentic sturdy!) does, too. Ask your acquaintances what that they had advise (and so they don't throw it away!). -bypass away same nutrition out a million a million/2 weeks in strengthen -bypass away some nutrition out a million week in strengthen -bypass away some nutrition out 3 days in strengthen -bypass away some nutrition out a million day in strengthen Label the nutrition products in accordance to once you left them out. you finally end up demonstrating, very graphically, the consequences of not suitable looking after nutrition after it somewhat is been cooked. the mold oftentimes inspires an emotional reaction - "Yukkk!!" and that facilitates while it comes time for the project to be graded.
