If it's a gas or propane dryer, you'll kill yourself from carbon monoxide poisoning. If it's an electric you're in business! I live in a very dry climate and it also gets very cold in the winter so venting the dryer inside made sense. To deal with the lint problem I built a lint trap using old pantie hose as a primary and 4 furnace filters as the secondary. This works fine as long as the trap is cleaned out on a weekly basis and has saved me about 40% on my heating bills. When the weather warms up, I re-vent to the outside.

if it's a gas dryer, it can be very dangerous because, if the igniter doesn't work and there is a failure inside, it could vent gas into the basement. Also, dangerous fumes can vent into the home if everything IS working right with your dryer and the main has a problem.

PLUS< the added humity can cause mold, mildew and wood rot to your understructure.

No, but get a "dryer sock" that goes over the end to catch the lint. Alot of people use these. I do know some bird breeders, who let the heat from dryer go in the basement, and it killed alot of birds, from all the fine lint in the air.

Yes, it's better to vent it OUTSIDE.

The exhaust has a lot of lint and stuff in it that is harmful to breathe.

You can get special filters to help trap the lint, but this can be a fire hazard after a while.

It's worth paying someone to install an exhaust outlet. Don't take chances with your health and safety!
