(3) (y squared) [2 (y cubed)]^4

Here is a hint:
a^2 = a*a
a^3 = a*a*a
a^4 = a*a*a*a

... and so forth.

So, what is (2 times y^3)?
Answer: (2y^3) = 2*y*y*y

What do you get if you write out (2y^3)^4?
Well, it would be (2*y*y*y) times itself four times.

Write it all out, and see what you get.

3y²(2y³)^4 = 3y²(2^4)(y^(3*4))
= 3y²(16)(y^12) = 3*16*y^(2 + 12) = 48y^14
