We have a 6 year old son with Down Syndrome and he would not be able to tolerate the long lines and crowds, but he loves Disney. I was told Disney provides a "special pass" to those guests with mental disabilities. Is this true? I know this would make our trip more accomodating.

If you go to Guest Relations and explain your situation to them then they would most likely give you a card with accommodations for your son. This card probably would act more like a fast pass, where you would still have a small line to stand through but not the real thing. During the parades and shows they do have disabled areas/seating so your son can enjoy himself out of the way of others.
Just to be on the safe side it would probably help if you bring some type of proof of your sons condition. Hope this has helped in some way, also that your son and family have a wonderful trip.

Unfortunately, Disney does not offer special passes for the disabled anymore. The reason cited was because it was a benefit that non-disabled guests could abuse easily. For the price of a wheelchair rental, a group of friends could skip a long line by having someone in the group claim to have a bad back or a similar disability.

Due to the abuses by some people they have redone how they give out the "Guest Assistance Pass". They do give them on a Case by Case basis and you might want to check out the following link.

I would call Guest Relations and inqire about this if you had any other concerns. They do not have a Toll Free Number but here are the phone number (407) WDW-MAGIC

No, there is no special pass for any Guests with disabilities.

Here's a link to the Guests with Disabilities FAQ section of the Walt Disney World website...

I am going to say yes. They have the fast pass as it is and that allows for line skipping. The best thing you can do is to call Disney....they have a customer support 1-800# that will be able to answer your question for sure. Have fun on your trip :)

i am not 100% sure this is how it works but like you or another adulkt you are traveling with standing line while the other person can walk around with your son this let you not cut people in line but you dont have to wait in line as a group when the other person get towards the front of the line your sone would get to ride eitehr w/ that person or you it you cannot fit three people

again i am not 100% but that was how it work 3 yrs. ago with my aunts son wwith down syndrom you should call disney and ask some questions
