Damn, this is a tough one. As a product of the 70's, I'm like a kid in the candy store with this question. After thinking about it, I would have to say both.

Definitely rock, I came of age in the disco era and the thought of the clothes, the slang and the music makes my hair stand on end. Funny I should come across this question because I noticed that on my cable service, someone replaced the traditional Christmas music channel with classic disco music channel. I didn't realize there was such a thing as "classic" disco.

Rock. Though, I will say I have still like disco. I have fond memories of living in San Francisco getting all dressed up to go out with a friend to a disco in the 1970's, our evening dress clothes for dancing, the disco light above, the smallish light dance floor, the fun disco moves, the music...great memories. And when the movie Saturday Night Fever came out...the Bee Gees music...fun memories.
