to u above me, in roman numerals will never have four repeating letters, after 3, they will express it as one less than the next largest unit.

for example:
4:

yes: IV

no:IIII

V is five, and the I in front of it means one. whenever you see a smaller value preceding a larger value, then you need to subtract the smaller value from the larger value. So IV means "one less than 5", or 4
