I want to purchase a MacBook Pro but I want to also make sure that as soon as I purchase it, that a better version wouldn't come out. How often does Apple usually ugrade the MacBook Pros?

Every 6 months or so. Same this thier other lines. They just upgraded to Core2 Duo a month ago too. They had the Core Duo Macbook since early '06 and upgraded 6 months or so later. This trend may last.

The mac mini and other lines seem to upgrade every 6 or so months too.

ibooks seemed to get extra memory/HD space about that amount too.

When it comes to purchasing products that advance so rapidly, you just have to jump in. You can't keep waiting for "the next big thing" or you'll never have the joy of owning one. Apple seems to advance them about every six months or more often.

Well, the MacBook series in itself is fairly new, just upgraded from the iBooks. It will be at least I think one year till a major upgrade comes (at least for hardware.)

Don't go to that mode, with any technology... you'll never purchase something in the video, RV, automotive, or computer arena!

Just grab what you want, now.
