Yeast infections can be caused just by not drying yourself properly, to pregnancy usually after second trimester. Being humid or too much intercourse can also cause yeast infections. Yeast is in the vaginal area all the time but when the count goes uo it causes infection. Also dressy underware (not cotton) can cause yeast infections too (not as breathable)
hope I helped!!!

All of the above--- plus-- a big one!--antibiotics. Many women get yeast flare-ups after taking antibiotics for other things.
If you are prone to the yeastie-beasties, eat yogurt regularly. A yogurt douche relieves the itchiness and even sometimes cures it, if its not too bad (plain yogurt--- mixed with water-- not the sweetened fruity kind!) Another inexpensive at-home remedy which sometimes works is vinegar water. Just a wee bit of vinegar though, or it'll burn... changes the acid/alkaline ratio and the beasties die.
If you are pregnant, be careful of using the usual drug-store remedies. I'd stick with the natural ones. And phase out undies as much as possible--- that whole area will be healthier--or at least wear loose ones.
PS in response to the answer above--- quite right. Pregnancy does not cause yeast infections--- but the added secretions keep things wetter and perhaps even change the Ph, so pregant women are much more prone than non-preg

Not necessarily from being pregnant.....
It is hard to say what causes it, we know that yeast grows
in humid, dark conditions....after all it is a fungus....
given the proper environment, it is going to grow....however,
sometimes our defenses are down and we are more vulnerable
to get yeast infections...after your period because the PH
balance of your vagina changes....you are more pre-disposed
to get it. So it seems to be a combination of different things....
I don't think anyone can truly tell you when you are going to
get it but what causes it is a "FUNGUS" the infection is commonly known as MONILIA vaginitis infection.
Hope this answers your question....

I have had 2 yeast infections and both came from antibiotics. My granddaughter who is 4 has had 2 and also came from antibiotics. Call your Dr. and he can tell you the best course of action to take with you being pregnant. And he can also make sure that it is a yeast infection. Good luck.

You can get it from taking anti-biotics as well. You can get one from not cleaning your self well, (which would be getting to hot and sweaty "down there".) You can get one from not eating healthy. Try eating some yogurt and get some medicine from the store. Yeast infections only get worse day by day.

First of all, yeast infections come from microbial fungus in your happy place that reproduce in a hot moist condition. Only idiots think that microbes can come from pregnancy.
