Okay, I was just browsing for jobs online, and sent an email with my resume attached. I blind copied what I thought was my home email address, but accidently put in my (current) work address. I don't really think the company sits here and goes through every single email (although I know they can) because we do business overseas, and the company probably houses around 500 employees, and each probablly sends out about 100 emails a day (I've sent personal emails before) but I am still FREAKING OUT. My thought was to just go in tomorrow morning, delete it without opening it, and empty the email trash. I know they can still look at it anyway, but it's not an "innappropriate" email, and i didn't write the email at work, but I am sooo nervous. aaah!!

Someone on here told me that there is a way to "retrieve" the message if it hasn't been opened yet, like cancel it... is this true??

If you use Outlook, you can attempt to Recall a message, but there is not a guarantee this will work. I would just delete the email and then delete the email in the trash like you said. I don't think it's a big deal.

Some where in your tool bar should be a option to retrieve e-mails. As long as they have not been opened by the receiving party. They will get a notice it has been retrieved but will not know the contents of the original e-mail, it is possible they will see the subject line of the retrieved e-mail.

once a email has been sent its gone. Perhaps some email systems might have a feature where you can cancel or edit it but none that I have heard of.

Yes, I'm not making it up...see link below for instructions. This only works for Microsoft Outlook - you didn't tell us what your email software is...
