Unique names or was I thinking of drugs?

Question

Me and my fiancee picked a few names out, and afterwards we started to look at the names, and they stuck out. Kurt Cobain was heavy into heroin but we love him, and one of the names is pretty much Jack Daniels, one is a nickname for Marijuana, but that's all coincedental, these names came from our shared brains and hearts.


But these are the names we love (we plan on having three kids):
Zachary Lennon Decker,
Julie Deanna Decker,
Jack Daniel Decker,
Charlie Cobain Decker,
Mary Jane Decker,
Glenn Pierce Decker

Insight on these names? What do you all think?

Oh, and Julie Deanna and Jack Daniel would be perfect if we had twins, which run in my family, not his.


Also, my fiancee's name is Ryne (Ryan), and he went through his whole life explaining he's not "Rine" or "Reen" or even worse, "Ry-Knee", and from his experience he felt these names were ok.

The names associated with the drugs will be made fun of and the poor kids will be tormented in school. They may be fun pot smoker names for you but for the child you're setting them up for a lifetime of disapointment. Think long term, your child becomes an attorney, the potential client has the choice between Jack Daniel, Mary Jane, Charlie Cobain or (the socially acceptable) Glenn Pierce, who do you think the client will hire? Studies have proven your child will become what they are named. Take that into consideration.

I think they're prety cool if you like them, but I don't see why people are making such a fuss about the middle names, in school the kids will be known as Jack Decker and Mary Decker, who's gunna make fun of that? Almost no one i grew up with used their ful name as a kid, or even when they truned into adults.

I'm a female with a boy's name and I can tell you from personal experience, it's no fun going through life explaining, spelling and defending your name. Parents can't resist doing something unique, but naming your kid after a grung rocker who committed suicide is just asking for a huge therapy bill down the road. Why not just go with a compromise? For instance, use Kurt, not Cobain, and that way you'll honor an artist you love, but save you kid the headache and annoyance of people trying to find out why he was named after this guy? Same goes for the alcohol label. Make it about the kids, not your vanity. Learning this lesson now will make life a lot easier.

zachary lennon and glenn pierce are totally hot. julie deanna is ok. i don't think charlie goes with cobain, i'd change charlie and keep cobain because it's cool. jack daniel and mary jane seem to me like names one would choose just so others could pick on them. the're a total no-no. hope you're not offended, it's just my oppinion

Sorry but those names are gonna get your kids teased...especially Jack Daniel and Mary Jane. And do you really want to name a child after a heroin addict? So I'd say you guys were thinking of drugs and not unique names. I'd rethink your choices of names.

Oh man. Mary Jane is a dead give away for someones parents being pot heads, lol. I had a boyfriend who's name was Jon Lennon and he hated it. His parents were real hippys from Woodstock generation. Unfortunately he did not share the same love for the Beatles as his parents did. But its up to you, I like the Zach name, it reminds me of saved by the bell and I loved that show. Good times.
