i have a friend that was like that. i have to say you kinda have to keep an eye on her. if she is talking about death in a way that you think that she is planning to doing something to harm herself that you have to help her seek help. i can see that you are worried about her. i think it is best if you talk to her about the things that is on her mind.

just let time take its path and she will stop but if you must then just look into it if she lost somone important this may jst be a "stage" but otherwise it migh just be an interest, jsut tell her ur alive and death is far away i think it would be useful how she mentions things or death cause i have no idea until its a little more specific

In all honesty, you can't change people. They can only change themselves. You can't be the one to interfere. If you friend is like that, then they're (Pardon me) Stupid. Its not mentally right in the head to think so much about death...or she could be really eccentric, and wanting to do something that is dangerous. Like bungee jumping.

Open her up to other possibilities after death. I think thinking about death is not a bad thing, but to only think of it pessimistically is not exactly healthy.
But be open to other ideas (reincarnation, maybe?)
