this happned about three weeks ago at first it hurt really badly and i had a dark spot on my nail it doesnt hurt any more but the spot is still there someone told me that its blood traped there and should get a needle and burn it with a lighter and put a hole it my nail do drain it this sounds painful anything else i can do.

I slammed my pinky finger in a car door back in high school. I feel your pain! I never drained the blood but you should probably check with a doctor just to be sure. My pinky was messed up for a while. The nail died and eventually fell off. I now have a white spot on my pinky from the way my nail fell off and grew back. Good luck!

I've had that happen too. Ouch. The method you described does work and it does relieve the painful pressure but you must be careful not to let the needle go to deep. Think scrape a hole rather than poke a hole. Your nail itself has no nerve endings so making a hole does not hurt. The nail should continue to grow out and may fall off in a couple of months. You can leave it alone and it will take care of itself. Either way you're OK.
