Hmmmm....Sounds like it 'might' be a Hernia. Pain in the genital area is way too non-speciific for anyone to help much. A Dr. will need 2 know 'exactly' where...If U have Medical coverage...they have to have a 24 hr Advice line. I would gr8tly encourage u 2 use it. They will ask about the 'type' of pain; stabbing, pressing, etc. They will probably ask how much pain...on say, a 1 to 10 scale. It would be best if he could talk directly to them, instead of them asking you, you asking him, etc.... He should not lift ANYTHING until it gets looked @. Absolutely NO straining to the area. This has gone on 29 days too long...I would get him to a Dr. tomorrow, 1st thing...We are surrounded by EXCELLENT physcians, we are 'gifted' with ONE body...it is our RESPONSIBLITY to take care of it the best we can. Like I said....one month of pain is 29 days tooooooo long...PLEASE...seek some help....it's there...

When ever I'm looking for anything medical related I go to Emedicine.com. You have to register with them, but it's free and just takes a minute or two. Take a while and look through the articles, see if you find anything that matches you're husband's symptoms. If it gets serious or persistant, see a doctor.
Note: Emedicine's articles are not written for the common layperson, however they do have a feature that automatically looks up the definition of anything you highlight.

Injury to the scrotum This is what I am thinking
Infection or inflammation of the epididymis (epididymitis) or testicle (orchitis)
Impaired blood flow to the testicle due to twisting of the spermatic cord (testicular torsion)
A stone in the lower ureter, which can cause pain in the testicle on the same side as the stone (Or this) They call it kidney stone.
Enlargement of the veins within the scrotum (varicocele)
Fluid in the testicles, such as due to a spermatocele or hydrocele
Testicular cancer
Sudden, severe pain in the testicles requires prompt medical attention. Also, see your doctor if you have:
Mild testicle pain lasting longer than a few days
A lump or swelling in or around a testicle
Really any of them you need to see a Doc by tommorrow.
Sorry hes not feeling well

.I'm a nurse. Tell him to see a doctor, this could be serious. Don't be alarmed there's always a solution. My concern is the problem going untreated, that's not good, see a doctor and give all these symptoms for a proper diagnoses.

Maybe he pulled his groin muscle. That can take weeks to heal. Maybe he should take some advil or something and you can slap him upside the head to take his mind off of it.
