Often when browsing I will come across a website which gives you an example of what an artist sounds like, that is... if you can get it to play smoothly. Most times I get intermittent sound stops and starts, sometimes it sounds like the Cd has stuck the way old records used to.

I have windows XP so should be able to download or listen to whatever is on the internet.

Occassionally my computer has an advert flashing which tells me that there is a fault with a file and I am not sure if this is the reason. I was informed some time a go that it was possible to rectify faults by clearing your browser history through tools. Well I do this also and still it hasn't helped.

I would like to be able to place some recordings on the internet at some point myself this year, but if I am having trouble listening to others than this problem could affect mine too.

Can anyone help?

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Is it possible my PC has a virus?

My home PC is not two years old.

This simplest answer could be that the sound file hasn't buffered enough to play. There are many reasons for slow buffering-

-Size of File
-Bitrate
-Sample Size
-Format
-Internet Speed

You have to let the sound buffer then play it properly. If you are listening to them through Windows Media Player download them then listen to them- File>Save File As...

If you are using Quicktime, it is fairly easy to notice the little grey line loading, that shows how much of the file it has downloaded.

Odds are that if you upload a music file to this site that you will be the only person with this problem and everyone else will hear it fine.

All in all be patient and wait for it to load. Email me at jiminy_macca@hotmail.com if you need any more help or information.

If the sound problems occur intermittently, there could be a interrupt conflict problem. Uninstall the audio and sound drivers and restart the computer. The computer will automatically reinstall the required drivers and the problem will be resolved. For more information you can check the following site: http://fixit.in/sound.html I find the information givenin the site is more useful

a million.) Do the audio device artwork with different kit (iPod, etc)? If not, and also you're particular they're being powered, then they (or their wires or connectors) might want to be undesirable... ...or possibly... 2.) Is it achievable those are those digital-really audio device that require a digital signal from the audio-out port? (I had in no way heard of the kind of component till my pal *proved* it truly is how his worked.) if it truly is the case, you want to assistance to change the output from accepted analog audio to a digital signal. must be only a menu component, yet think about to change lower to and fro whenever you bypass between headphones and audio device. in the journey that your headphones are operating, then the motive force is wonderful, and that i wager it truly is both a putting that needs to get replaced (analog vs digital output) or a hardware failure outdoors of the port (connector, wires, or audio device).
