Okay, I was just browsing for jobs online, and sent an email with my resume attached. I blind copied what I thought was my home email address, but accidently put in my (current) work address. I don't really think the company sits here and goes through every single email (although I know they can) because we do business overseas, and the company probably houses around 500 employees, and each probablly sends out about 100 emails a day (I've sent personal emails before) but I am still FREAKING OUT. My thought was to just go in tomorrow morning, delete it without opening it, and empty the email trash. I know they can still look at it anyway, but it's not an "innappropriate" email, and i didn't write the email at work, but I am sooo nervous. aaah!!

I would not worry about. The worst that can happen is you lose your job. If you are a valued employee and mean a lot to this company, and they find out you are looking for futher employment else where, You might be asked to stay or asked why you would look else where. This could acutally benifit you if it is found by the right person. :)

Unless they have a reason to look at your email, they probably won't see it.
If you are doing a good job at work and not doing things to be suspicious, then you should be alright.

It also sounds like there are enough employees there that they don't need to look at your email.

I would delete it without opening it just as you do any other email. I had the same problem at my work. (school district) They always checked teachers' emails. But it was usually the people they knew were trouble. They found cheating teachers, gamblers, and some other weird stuff going on. Those people were all shady to begin with. They didn't lose their jobs either.

Don't worry about it. You'll be ok! Good luck with the job search.

In MS Outlook, there's a tool that can pull back an email you just sent - only if it hasn't been read yet...go to your sent file folder, and right click on the sent email to get the drop down menu. There should be something that says "Retrieve" email..I don't know off hand exactly what it says...sorry. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry about it much. If your employer values you as an employee, this isn't something that will be of any concern to those who might see it. Even then, there's a slim chance to none that it will even be looked at.

If they don't value you, then you're probably better off not working there anyway!

I don't think I'd worry about it and I work for a company with pretty strict policies on email.

Don't worry. It happens with all the companies. It will not not have any impact coz, you didn't send the mail from your office.
