Rogues are really good at killing clothies... With a good dagger and gear you can take out any cloth wearer with two hits. (Ambush than backstab) Rogues and hunters are the easiest to grind to level 60, but Hunters are usually faster since the hunter never takes any damage and its quicker to go from monster to monster. Hunters at level 60 are really REALLY good at farming gold by just putting on all green equipment with just agility and having super ranged attack power. Overall if you want a nice gold making machine a hunter, if you want to own cloth a rogue. These classes do get owned alot by warriors and you would never be able to take one if it's wearing full tier 3 or higher but they'll probably nerf them with the burning crusade patch. Rogues are just insanely fun to gank with... Goodluck with teh burning crusade man

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, it depends on how good you are at playing WOW and what you enjoy doing.

And of course all information I am giving is only relevant to level 60+ for the most part as thats the level you will spend most of your time at if you are a serious WOW player.

First question you have to ask is do you like pets? If so then the answer is obviously hunter, if it doesn't matter then keep reading

question 2 is Do you enjoy pvp and are you any good at it? Both require a lot of skill to be good at in pvp, however i would say its slightly harder to be a good hunter when it comes to pvp. They require good reflexes, timing, etc and absolute knowledge of yours and your pets abilities. Rogues are difficult also though, and require good timing and reflexes as well to be able to stun people and such when necessary.

When it comes to raiding both classes are considered High DPS classes and that is generally their main role in raiding, however hunters can also be assigned extra tasks such as pulling, crowd control, mana drain, or tranq shot duty, so they generally require more skill to play during raids than a rogue, rogues main job in raids is to avoid pulling agro and DPS mobs down and stay alive at all costs because rogues are usually one of the last classes to get heals.

quick summary of the key features of each class

Hunter: Pet, ability to kite, mana drain, high DPS, crowd control, good pulling class, decent at pvp if you are good enough.

Rogues: Stealth, high DPS, stuns, poisons, also you have evade, sprint, and vanish to help with your survivability. Use them wisely if you choose rogue or you will die a lot. Overall the rogue is an easier class to play but just as hard to master.

i think a rogue is better for pvp than a hunter....hunters are a very popular class so naturally there will be loads of hunters..rogues have good skills such as lock picking that comes in handy for making extra gold on the side..they are also great for quick kills..
