Okay since I'm older I'm not sure if you mean literally banging your head or figuratively.

Literally you can actually cause brain damage.

Figuratively, there are many studdies that show that heavy metal music and the like causes a lot of stress, even high blood pressure. Will you lose brain cells, you can't lose a cell, cells die, become diseased or are injured, you don't lose them.

Load music or anykind can destroy your hearing permanantly in just a few years and once damaged, it progresses in time even if you stop listening to load music. So unless you want to need hearing aids in a few years, turn it down for your ears sake.

There is proof that classical music does increase I.Q in children. So theoretically other music could descrease it.

Don't think your killing brain cells by banging your head to music. But you could possibly bruise your brain.
Your brain may be hitting your skull as you bang your head.
