Getting rid of any party, Democrat or Republican, would be a fatal mistake. Each party serves as a check on the other when they get to much power. With too much power they would enact drastic changes. So both are essential to America's well being.

There's two major parties, but that doesn't mean they're the ONLY parties. Libertarian, Green, Independent, Constitutionalist, etc.
