...as stated i'm an accountant major in my second year, and i'm planning on going to law school. Should i change my major to something else like general business or business administration? several people tells me it makes no sense to be an accountant major and want to go to law school. But even if i don't want to do one, i can all ways do the other. and they also tell me that i'm going to be a crook like the rest of the accountants but i really want to be a lawyer...any suggestions?

You can stay in Accounting and go to law school, thats perfectly fine.

The people that you're listening to sound like idiots. If you like accounting, stick with it. If you hate it, then maybe you might want to switch. If you're going to law school, your undergrad major isn't required to be one or the other. Any of those will do fine. But I suspect that lawyers with a background in accounting will be very highly valued, and that will give you an edge over lawyers who don't have any accounting.

By the way, I don't know any accountants who are crooks.

Depending on what type of Law you plan on practicing, the Accounting background can and will work well together. In fact I had to take two law classes while being an accounting major myself. I was so interested in those two classes that I almost switched majors too. In my opinion I think you should stay the accounting major and then pursue the law degree if that is what you really want.

If you're doing well, I'd stay in it. I'd only choose general business or business administration if I wanted to boost my GPA cuz those are notoriously easy majors.

Law schools take any major. If you've got an undergrad major that can help you after your law school career, that's a plus. My major, like history, poly sci, etc was pretty useless cuz you don't really learn anything that can be useful in those majors. Same goes for criminal justice. It tends to limit you to the criminal law field (not the most fun) yet it's not a real advantage when applying to a DA/PD job other than it shows you've always been interested in the criminal law field. Your law school grades matter more than your undergrad degree.

If you can afford it, you can do a dual major of accounting and criminal justice. You can use your accounting degree with your law degree. You can become a corporate lawyer or work as tax attorney or something. There are uses for an accounting degree.

It is up to you though, don't let anybody tell you what to do. Take a risk. If you really are concerned, talk to a career counselor.

Short Answer: No

I think an accounting degree will be great in conjunction with a law degree. It will surely give you an edge when you graduate.

I currently work in a law school and we have a law student who got his degree in studio art (he was a ballet dancer). What matters are your LSAT scores, GPA, and recommendations.

So stick with it and you will be fine.

There is no study of creation science. Nothing to study, unless you want to go into ancient jewish fiction. That's a major.
