im not getting your connection from being against the killing of animals,,, to the alcohol and cigs,,, and im not sure you/we can expect people to stop killing each other or eating animals, when we havent even stopped hitting children yet,,,,,,,, which yes i had a happy time, spent it with a little 1 year old,,,, and a big lovable dog,,,,

I think that if you focus on one or two of these issues instead of such a variety, that you may be able to work for the changes you wish to see in that area. You spread yourself too thin and you'll never accomplish change.
In answer to your question, "Is it going to be another year of murdering animals...and humans in wars?" It's been going on for millenia, and I doubt that it will suddenly cease this year. Pick your issue and see what difference you CAN accomplish.
Have I had a happy time these days? Yes, I have kissed a few people "Happy New Year" because I hope that it will be. No harm in spreading kindly thoughts.
Now, go focus on something that you can make a difference in.

According to Christian fanatics, the Rapture is supposed to happen soon and they're suppose to leave this planet. I happily await that day of the beginning of peace on this Earth. Now, if only we could talk the violent Muslims and Jews to Rapture off this world, too. Can't you just see it? I will feel sorry, though for whomever gets stuck with all those morbid, violent, feebleminded souls. Maybe they'll all learn to be decent souls once they leave this beautiful world and regret the centuries of terrible, unforgiveable harm that they and their kind have caused here.
